The best meal in town can be found at the SmithCenter’s Cabaret Room on the 1st weekend of every month. Did I say meal? I meant DEAL. Yes, a deal it is. Where can you see a world class performer backed up by some the best musicians on the planet? That’s what you get when you treat yourself to an hour and a half of Clint Holmes up close and personal. Clint has found a niche as resident jazz artist, every month, in the cabaret room. I’ve treated myself to the $45 ticket every month since he has started. You can’t find a more reasonable show in town, and a show it is. Every month it’s a different theme. This month was a tribute to Bobby Short with lots of Cole Porter. (If you’re not familiar with Bobby Short just goggle the name). After the show you’ll always find Clint out in the lobby talking with friends and fans. An unpretentious class act is all I can say. Treat yourself next month.

And The Beat Goes On…
Life is been such a whirlwind, as some of you may know, that I have had very little time to let anyone know what lousy food I’ve had or what great entertainment I’ve seen. And it will continue with very little time to write about it. Monday Tap House, Tuesday rest, Wednesday Composers Showcase, Thursday wine tasting at our clubhouse (inability to drive afterwards), FridayJane Monheit at The Smith Center (my sister and brother-in-law arrive on Friday), Saturday night a party, Sunday afternoon brunch/party, Sunday night Grant Griffin’s show at South Point, Monday (or maybe Sunday) head to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. Life’s good. Real good.
After Wednesday’s posting, the next calendar will not be out until June 6th. You can check the calendar under upcoming events for gigs during the last 2 weeks of May. Some highlight events that you might be interested in are:
