A New Perspective

I’ve been extremely busy with getting our new house ready to move into, so I haven’t had much time to write about what entertainment I’ve been privy too. With that said, I will be posting reviews that a friend of mine has written. Every couple of days or so, when I receive something from him, I will post his review. I think he has a much more elegant style than I, but don’t tell him I said that. In case you’re wondering who he is…first let me say that I will post his complete comments unedited. Back to whom he is. His name is Sam Wagmeister. Some of you may be familiar with him, as he attends and supports as much local entertainment as anyone in this town does. I want to thanks Sam for all his efforts and good taste. Sam is pictured below.

Last night, Lesley and I headed over to E-Strings for the first time, to grab a burger and see Stevie D playing with Mike Vaughn. It’s nice to be able to go to a joint that isn’t a half-a-tank of gas away from our Henderson home. Damn them oil producing nations! Well, much to our disappointment, no burgers. On the bright side, the mediocre pizzas, all beer and Lesley’s favorite, margaritas, were 2-for-1. Although not a beer drinker, when it comes down to a choice of beer or soda, beer wins out. Then the music started! Holy cow! Even Lesley didn’t mind (too much) the volume. It just went through the room like a microwave oven, cooking us from the inside out. I had never been a Stevie Ray Vaughn fan until last night, hearing his music live. We sat all the way in the back…which was really not ALLLLL the way back…leaning against the back of a thickly padded somewhat-leather booth, my with my arms spread wide on the back of the booth just feeling the music flow. I looked at Lesley and had one comment: “I want to be Evan Davis.”
