I HAD NUMEROUS calls about the show at The Bootlegger last night. Many people seem to have trouble getting out for a late venue, 10 PM. All I can say is…take a nap, man, you missed a boss gig. It was Michael Grimm fronting with Jerry Lopez’s band. Jerry being out of town, had his brother, Lenny Lopez, vocals and congas, took over the hosting duties, and was hip, cool and quite entertaining. Tim Scott, bass guitar and vocals, Gabe Falcon, drums, Rob Mader, sax, and Michael’s musical director, Bruce Wallace on keys, all helped rock the house with an assortment of blues, funk and R&B. Noted local blues singer, Brad Cordel, sat in with Michael and sand a few on his own. What another great talent. Sandi and I are definitely going to frequent more blues venues.
